Financial education is a significant subject, as its effects impact nearly every stage of an individual’s life. Increasingly younger children possess their own funds and mobile phones. There exists a temporal discrepancy between the moment when children receive their first money and the commencement of financial education in school. This master’s thesis investigates, through qualitative interviews with children, adolescents, and their parents, the challenges faced by Polish youth in managing finances, and identifies areas where knowledge could be supplemented. The research aims to evaluate whether a mobile application can serve as a supplementary educational tool and analyzes how such an application should be designed, considering age and users’ needs, to be an effective instrument for enhancing financial knowledge acquired at school and through discussions with parents. The findings suggest that a mobile application could fulfill this function.
